JAMES P. GREEN

JAMES
P. GREEN is a 1979 graduate of the University of Miami School of Law.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of South
Alabama in 1975. Mr. Green practices in Alabama and Florida. He is a member
of the Mobile Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar, the Florida State Bar,
and the American Bar Association, where he is active in the Fidelity/Surety,
Construction Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution sections. He is a
member of the Defense Research Institute, Alabama Defense Lawyers
Association and the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution. He is a lecturer
statewide for the Alabama Bar Institute Continuing Legal Education
Committee. A trained mediator and arbitrator, Mr. Green has served as such
for the American Arbitration Association and frequently serves as a mediator
in pending circuit court cases. The majority of his practice deals with all
aspects of land-based and maritime construction, environmental litigation,
bonds, liens, insurance and personal injury. Mr. Green is a senior

Mr. Green was honored as an Alabama Super
Lawyer in his field for both 2010 and 2011.
Jim is a frequent lecturer and author whose

Jim’s
hobbies include golf, snow skiing, and sailing. He has crewed in national
and international championship regattas,
and participated six times in the Bi-Annual "Regatta al Sol" from Pensacola,
Florida to Mexico, two of those as skipper of his own boat. Jim has been a
long time Board member of the Mobile Yacht Club (the second oldest yacht
club in the nation), and held the position of Commodore from 2004 to 2006.
Jim’s maternal grandparents were from Spain,
although his mother was born in Guatemala. He attended grade school in
Guatemala, where he gained his fluency in Spanish. He keeps in close contact
with his relatives there and in Costa Rica through frequent visits.
